136 years since the publication of Museo Torlonia – the splendid catalogue with a reproduction in phototype of all the 620 sculptures of the most recent of the large princely collections of Rome, and translated into French as a demonstration of the exceptional interest shown by both an international and Italian public – the new catalogue devoted to the exhibition “The Torlonia marbles. Collecting Masterpieces” finally enables a significant series of sculptures from the marvellous collection of the Fondazione Torlonia, carefully selected by the curators Salvatore Settis and Carlo Gasparri, to step out of the shadows.

The exhibition catalogue, published by Electa, is the most up-to-date and exhaustive source of knowledge of the masterpieces in the collection which have undergone lengthy, painstaking restoration work carried out by the Fondazione Torlonia and supported by the luxury jeweller Bvlgari, giving back the marbles their original beauty.

The catalogue will also be accompanied by an exhibition guidebook edited by Stefania Tuccinardi, proving visitors with an account of the exhibition that revolves around the very nature of the Museo Torlonia as a "collection of collections".
